Mrs. Mondell Golding Davis Lawrence



Mrs. Mondell Golding Davis Lawrence, age 81, of Dobson, NC, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Surry County on May 16, 1936 to the late Dock Golding and the late Louie Flippin Golding. She was retired from Perry Manufacturing, and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Darrell “Cotton” Davis, and her second husband, Graham Smith Lawrence; a son, Rodney Darrell Davis; two brothers, Charles Golding and Leon Golding and a brother-in-law, Harvey Barnes. Surviving are her children, Carolyn (Maynard) McMillian of Greensboro, Cynthia (Steffen) Haynes of Dobson, John (Linda) Lawrence of Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Brad McMillian, Scott McMillian (Amy), Adam Haynes, Sally Haynes Pack (Chris), John Lawrence, Jr., Mills Garwood, Sara Sillay (Jason); great-grandchildren, Austin, Ashlyn and Aiden Haynes, Brooklyn Pack, Clay Tyas, Keller McMillian; special mother, Sarah Allie Flippin Golding of Lowgap; sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie Barnes of Lowgap, Sarah Lou Beane (Don) of Dobson, Lillar Hayes (Carl) of Lowgap, Rachel Gentry (Roger) of Chapin, SC, Shyrell Boyette (Bob) of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, W.B. “Dub” Golding (Peggy) of Lowgap, Artis Golding (Jean) of Mt. Airy, Roger Golding (Nancy) of Mt. Airy, Joe Golding (Sandra) of Boone’s Hill, VA, Harold Golding (Trudy) of Sunset Beach, NC, Judy Golding of Elkin; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the chapel of New Hope Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the New Home Church of Christ Cemetery. Rev. Trent Lyons will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at New Hope Baptist Church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of her service at 1:00 PM. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Lawrence family.
