Obituary

Mrs. Loraine Roberts Gilles, age 67, of Bassett passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Sovah Health of Martinsville. She was born in Martinsville on January 20, 1951 to the late William Guy Roberts and Margaret Elizabeth Woolwine Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Thomas “Tommy” Roberts and Phillip Dean Roberts.

Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Frederick G. Gilles of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Ronnie Martin of Fieldale; two sons, Chris Gilles of Fieldale, Matt Gilles and fiancé, Kara Schultz of Schuylerville, NY; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah and Roy Rusmisel of Stuart, Patricia and Robert Agee of Danville, Becky and Tom Farris of Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Tonya Roberts of Virginia Beach; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Greg Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in the Patrick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 18981 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Stuart, VA 24171 or to the Bassett Rescue Squad, 1950 Riverside Dr, Bassett, VA 24055.
