Mrs. Attrice Marshall Thompson, age 90 of Ararat, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born June 2, 1927 to the late Sherman and Lettie Pruitt Marshall. She was a homemaker, a farmer, a loving mother and grandmother who will dearly be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories are a daughter and son-in-law; Virginia and Kenneth Johnson; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Karon Thompson, Jerry and Jan Thompson, Henry and Ann Thompson; grandchildren, Kaitlin Thompson, Zachary Thompson and wife Michelle, Jessica Holder and husband Lee, Stephanie Lawson and husband Jimmy, Justin Marshall; thirteen great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; Sisters, Gertrude Montgomery and Sylvia Harold; brothers, John Henry Marshall and Bobby Quesinberry; brother-in-law, Turner Thompson; sister-in-law, Mable Thompson, several nieces and nephews as well as a special friend Sheila Smith. In addition to her parents Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband; Ralph Thompson and a sister Ethel Kirks. A graveside service will held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 2pm at the Thompson Family Cemetery in Ararat Virginia with services conducted by Rev. Randy Parish. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Ararat Volunteer Fire Department, Ararat Virginia. The family would like to say a special thanks to Reta Davis Moss and the second floor staff at Northern Hospital of Surry County for all their kindness and help given during the illness of Mrs. Thompson.
