​Mr. Dennis Carroll Evans

Mr. Dennis Carroll Evans, 77 of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday morning January 29, 2017 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born in Surry County on February 8, 1939 to the late Foley Sanders Evans and Madealine Gentry Evans Brannon. Mr. Evans was of the Baptist faith. He was last employed at Renfro Corporation, and he was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Evans is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Niten; two grandchildren, Stephanie Niten and Alyssa Niten; a sister, Wilma Evans Keith of Virginia Beach, VA; and cousins, Lois Johnson, Betty Newman, Helen Wall and Wallace Jarrell. In addition to his parents, Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae Wilson Evans. A graveside service will be held at Skyline Memory Garden on Wednesday, February 1, 2017,11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens with the Rev. Larry Phillips officiating. There will not be any formal visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Evans had requested that memorials be made to the Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
