Mrs. Barbara Jean Tyndall Elmore

It's been said that God calls His special Angels Home, on Sunday. That must be true. As family gathered around, Barbara Jean Tyndall Elmore, 84, of Mt. Airy, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 29, 2017. She was born in Lenoir County, NC to the late Leo Franklin and Susie Emma West Tyndall. Mrs. Elmore was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the foundation on which the family stood. Barbara loved her family and enjoyed every moment spent with them. She was always there as a caretaker, advisor, and friend. As the wife of Bailey, she too followed God's call into the ministry. Barbara supported her husband and family, through many moves across the state of North Carolina. In every city or town, she worked alongside her husband in spreading the word of God. She touched a countless number of lives over the years and throughout the state. Her door was always open and there was always food on the table. In addition to reading, Barbara loved to do ceramics, painting each piece with love and care. Many memories have been made over a good jigsaw puzzle. She loved flowers of all kinds, and loved to watch the hummingbirds. Her dream vacation was to visit the lighthouses of North Carolina, which she did a few years ago. The legacy of this great woman, can be seen in the love shown by so many in the past few weeks. The outpouring of support for her and the family, is a testament to all that have known her. There's a date of birth and a date of death. What separates the two, is a hyphen. Barbara made sure that she put everything she had in that hyphen. She lived and loved every day to its fullest. Most of all, she loved her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ. As the family prepares to lay this woman to rest, we ask that you take a moment of your time, and reflect on your own memories of her. Please continue to remember the family in prayer. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elmore was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Bailey K. Elmore, IV, Carrie Marie Elmore, a special grand dog, Roxie Elmore; and an infant brother. Left to cherish her memory are, her devoted husband of 66 years, Rev. Bailey Kinsey Elmore, Sr.; daughters and son-in-law, Belinda Elmore; Beverly and Frankie Handy; son and daughter-in-law, Bailey Kinsey, Jr. and wife, Sharon; grandchildren and spouses, Amanda and Dwayne Vickery, Tina and Kevin Hooker, Harlie and Jessie Easter, Kinsey and Kristy Elmore, Shane and Kaitlynn Oakley, and Darren Handy; great-grandchildren, Billy Lee Elmore, Dakota Patterson, Katelyn Hooker, Hannah Melton, Madison Easter, Ellery Easter, Jarren Handy, Heather Bowen and husband, Marcus, Jarred Hooker and baby Easter on the way; sisters and brother-in-law, Louise Lyons and Carol and Jimmy Barnes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev, Grant Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, October 30, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
