​Ms. Sallie Mary Walker Pendleton

Ms. Sallie Mary Walker Pendleton, age 89 of Stuart, Virginia passed away at The Blue Ridge Therapy Connection on Saturday, August 13, 2016. She was born in Patrick County on August 20, 1926 to the late Grady Walker and Bertie Rorrer Walker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lacy Mays, Nannie Rakes and Ada Lawson; and seven brothers, Garland, Gordon, Fred, Curtis, Troy, Milton, and Dickerson Walker. She was a long time member of Sycamore Baptist Church and she had retired from United Elastic Corp. with 35 years of service.

Ms. Pendleton is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Peggy Belton and Mike of Critz, Virginia and Patsy Hughes of Stuart, Virginia; two grandchildren, Marty Holt and wife, Donna of Stuart, Virginia and Cheryl Dillion of Stuart, Virginia; four great grandchildren, Kaylee Holt, Kayla Pearman, Brandon Wood, and Chelsea Lawson; a great great granddaughter, Mackenzie Rae Fain; a sister, Ellen Griffith of Stuart, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Ms. Pendleton will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sycamore Baptist Church with Pastor Gerald Melton officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donation be made to Sycamore Baptist Church, C/o Nancy Midkiff, Treasurer, 171 Sycamore Church Lane, Stuart, VA 24171.
