​Shannon Marie McBride Venable

Shannon Marie McBride Venable, 43, of Dobson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday afternoon, February 13, 2016, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Shannon was born April 21, 1972, in Surry County, the younger of two children born to Richard Ted and Carol Marie Pack McBride. She is survived by three sons, Walter Venable of Elkin, and William Venable and Austin Venable, both of Dobson; two grandchildren, Wally Venable and Alexandra Venable; her parents, Richard Ted and Carol Marie Pack McBride of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Tony Edwards of Dobson; a niece, Nicole Holyfield; a nephew, Joshua Thomas; her mother-in-law, Brenda Snow; and her “grandma,” Eva Gillespie. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy is in charge of the cremation and serving the family. A memorial service may be planned at a later date. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, and her home nurse, Shea Dobson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O.
