Ada Lee McCraw Thomas

Mrs. Ada Lee McCraw Thomas, 92, of Pinnacle, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Thomas was born May 6, 1918, in Patrick County, VA, to Alex and Emily Alice McCraw. She was a loving homemaker who was devoted to her dear family. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Wright, Mary and Burton Terry, Sissie and J.W. Poindexter, Jeanette and Roger Montgomery, and Joann Sisk; sons and daughters-in-law, E.C. Thomas, Roy and Mary Thomas, Ray Thomas, and Nelda Thomas; twenty-five grandchildren; thirteen stepgrandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and twenty-eight great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Thomas; sons, Virgil Thomas and Carl Thomas, Jr.; a sister, Alice Wheeler; and a daughter-in-law, Hazel Thomas. The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 6, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Brother Don Collins and the Rev. Dale Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the Westside Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
