Adell Jacob Hicks

Mr. Adell Jacob Hicks, 82, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Hicks was born March 22, 1928, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Burl and Margie Phillips Hicks. Mr. Hicks is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Michael Money of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Stephanie Money Winslow and her husband, Heath, of Raleigh, and Benji Hiatt and his wife, Rhonda, of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Flora and James Jones of Mount Airy; and a brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Sue Hicks of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Hiatt; a grandson, Michael Banner Money; a sister, Naomi Sechrist; and a brother, Monroe Hicks. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 21, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. David "Buster" Sechrist officiating. The family will receive friends Friday at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy from 1:00 PM until the time to leave for the service.
