Agnes Amanda Leftwich Shelton

Mrs. Agnes Leonard Leftwich Shelton, age 98, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Central Continuing Care.  Mrs. Shelton was born in Carroll County on April 17, 1921, to Benjamin Harrison and Dovia Ann King Leonard.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be dearly missed.  Among the many who will always cherish her memory are her children, Mildred Johnson, Carole Holder, Helen Wall and husband, Roger; Philip Leftwich and wife Patricia; and Benny Leftwich and wife Cathy; 22 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren and one on the way.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shelton was preceded in death by her first husband, Garland Austin Leftwich; her second husband, Warren G. Shelton; a daughter, Audrey Nunn; grandsons, Kenneth Johnson and Mitchell Holder; sisters, Georgia Vernon, Dot Vernon, and Juanita Edwards; brothers, Harley, Joe and Everette Leonard; and sons-in-law, Tommy Holder, Bernie Johnson, and Joe Nunn.  Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Craig Edwards and Rev. David Sechrist.  Burial will follow in Saint Paul Church of the Brethren Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home.
