Alan Wayne Bowen

Mr. Alan Wayne Bowen, 72, of 1632 North Main Street, Mount Airy, husband of Hilda Arrington Bowen, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2007, at Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville. Mr. Bowen, a quiet man of many talents, was born October 23, 1934, in Union County, OH, son of the late Dr. William Clinton Bowen and Norma Salisbury Bowen. Mr. Bowen was a computer and electronics technician and was of the Methodist faith. Surviving are his wife, Hilda Arrington Bowen of the home; a daughter, Lisa Cooke of Smyrna, TN; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Kat Cooke of Mount Airy; and four grandchildren, Tonya Goldsberry, Morgan Brooks, Jacob Cooke, and Seth Cooke. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, William Mark and Pamela Bowen of Upper Sandusky, OH. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at 4:00 PM at Indian Grove Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dennis W. "Bud" Cameron. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.
