Mr. Alan Gray Wright, 33, of Mount Airy, left on his heavenly flight to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Mr. Wright was born December 21, 1976, in Forsyth County, to Gray Wright and Susie Hayes Wright. Mr. Wright graduated with honors in 1995 from North Surry High School and was member of Who's Who Among American High School Students. Even with his physical challenges, Mr. Wright continued his education at Saint Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, graduating with honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Mr. Wright was an intelligent, loving, and positive young man who was an inspiration to all who knew him. He is survived by his father and his special friend, Gray Wright and Maureen Carville of Mount Airy; his mother, Susie Hayes Wright of Lowgap; his loving grandmothers, Nancy Jones Hayes and Jean C. Wright and her fiancé, Robert P. "R.P." Hawks, all of Mount Airy; a loving sister, Amanda Sue Wright and her fiancé, David Sizemore, of Lowgap; a very special niece, Aliyah Grace Sizemore of Lowgap; his fiancée and her wonderful children, April, Alexis, and Nick Cain, all of Mount Airy; aunts and uncles, Karen Hayes Bowlin of Winston-Salem, Sheila and Larry Ramey, and Diane and Danny Ramey, and George Hayes, all of Lowgap; several cousins; lots of friends; and his dog, Taz. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Wayne Hayes and Transon "T.G." Wright; and a first cousin, Gerald Douglas Bowlin. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September, 14, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Sammy Lawson, the Rev. Tony Holder, and Mr. Randy McCollum. Burial will follow in the Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family will accept flowers or memorials be made to Aliyah Grace Sizemore Scholarship Fund, c/o Jean C. Wright, 210 Graceland Lane, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Molnar, the 10 North Tower staff at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, a special caregiver of 14 years, Donnie Riggs of Mount Airy, and Surry County Home Health for the wonderful care.
