Alice Marie "Red" Martin

Mrs. Alice Marie "Red" Martin of 60 of 7985 Ararat Hwy, Claudville, VA wife of Mr. Stuart "Winkey" Martin passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Martin was born October 23, 1947 in Patrick County, VA to the late Glover and Hassie Goad Hill. Surviving are her husband, Stuart "Winkey" Martin of the home, a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Garry Brown, Stuart, VA, a son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Cher Martin, Stuart, VA, four grandchildren, Tucker and Parker Brown, Bailey and Madison Martin, three sisters, Jean Joyce, Sandy Ridge, NC, Linda Culler, King, NC and Faye McCormick, Claudville, VA and a brother, Jesse Hill, Claudville VA. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the Slate Mountain Baptist Church conducted by Bro. Chris McMillian and Rev. Verlon Combs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt. Airy, NC 27030. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
