Alice Opelene Dawson Roberts

Mrs. Alice Opalene Dawson Roberts, 70, of Pilot Mountain, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. Roberts was born February 16, 1939, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Lester Jerry and Ila Maude Daniel Dawson. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Dunmon and Debra Nations; two sons, Kenneth Roberts and Bradley Roberts; several grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Heath and Willie Sue Stachnick; and a brother, Jerry Dawson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Garland Roberts; and two brothers, James Dawson and R.J. Dawson. A memorial service will be conducted Monday, November 23, 2009, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, by Brother Don Collins. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
