Mrs. Alleen Fulk Marshall, 89, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, April 15, 2022, at Priddy Manor in King. Mrs. Marshall was born September 3, 1932, in Stokes County, one of thirteen children born to the late Ramie and Agnes Savannah Fulk Fulk. Alleen worked as a hairdresser on Main Street in Mount Airy for 50 years and retired from Ideal Beauty Shop. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Grace Moravian Church. She is survived by two sons, John Wells Marshall, Jr. of High Point and Bradley S. Marshall of Winston-Salem; a grandson and his wife, Aaron Gray and Jessica Marshall of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Sally Essick (Billy) of Manteo and Dianne Beck (Joe) of King; two brothers, Leo Fulk (Jane) and Barry Fulk (Carolyn), both of King; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marshall was preceded in death by her husband, John Wells Marshall, Sr.; five sisters, Wyvena Hicks (Garfield), Nellie Mae Slater (Louie), Nancy Phillips (Lawrence), Ineida Pratt (D.R.), and Anna Myers (Melburn); three brothers, Aldeen Fulk (Jessie), Dellie Gray Fulk (Sandra), and Edgar Fulk (Joanne); and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leonard and Virginia Wheeling Marshall. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM at God’s Acre, with the Rev. Dr. Neil Routh officiating. No formal visitation will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Margaret Leonard Scholarship Fund, c/o Grace Moravian Church, 1401 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
