Allen George Lewis

Mr. Allen George Lewis, 78, of Mt. Airy passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.  He was born in Forsyth County on May 15, 1945, to the late George and Irene Pike Lewis.   Mr. Lewis retired after 44 years from the asphalt paving business.  He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Irene Shelton Lewis; sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and April Lewis, Gary and Penny Lewis, Robby and Karla Lewis; grandchildren, Gary Lewis, Jr., Magan Lewis, Holly Lewis, Alex Lewis, Kayla Lewis, Justin Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Karrie Marks; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Stevens; special nephew, Denny Taylor.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by a sister and brothers-in-law, Silvia and Denver Taylor, Edward Stevens.; daughter in law, Jennifer Lewis.  A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brian Pack officiating.  Burial will follow in Midkiff Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.  Moody Funeral Services in Mt.
