Allen Johnson Lovill

Mr. Allen Johnson Lovill, 43, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024, at his home.  Mr. Lovill was born September 21, 1980, in Surry County, to Robert Jones Lovill, III and Elizabeth Johnson Lovill.  Allen graduated from Mount Airy High School and attended community colleges in Wilmington and Charlotte.  He was single and worked with his parents in the real estate and investments business.   A kind and generous man, Allen loved people and his cats, Cam and Sam.  He truly never met a stranger.  Allen went to almost all the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Hornets games and attended music festivals and concerts throughout the Southeast.  Allen’s death leaves a huge hole in the hearts of family and friends.  He is survived by his parents, Robert Jones Lovill, III and Elizabeth Johnson Lovill; his two aunts, Barbara L. Hooks and her husband, Dr. Borden Hooks, and Kathy J. Outlaw; his uncle, Allen Johnson; and several cousins.  Mr. Lovill was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Jones Lovill, IV; his maternal grandparents, Wallace Allen “Wally” Johnson, Sr. and Paula Scott Johnson; and his paternal grandparents, Robert Jones Lovill, Jr. and Esther Brown Lovill.  A private graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery, with the Rev. Sarah Carper Morris officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1043, Mount Airy, NC  27030; or a charity of the donor’s choice.  Our time with you was the best days of our lives.  Although our sun will be dimmer, the stars will shine brighter.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
