Mrs. Allie "Delma Rae" Jenkins Greenwood, age 74 a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, of Elkin passed away on Monday February4, 2008. She was born in Surry County on January 7, 1934 to the late Johnny Jenkins and the late Cora Collins Jenkins. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she had severed as a Sunday School Teacher, and was retired from Pine State Knitting in Mt. Airy with over 35 years of service. Surviving are her husband of 53 years Lloyd "Buck" Greenwood of the home two daughters and sons-in-law Colene and Jerry Newman, Donna and Tony Phillips; one son and daughter-in-law Flynt and Tracy Greenwood all of Elkin; by six grandchildren Darren Greenwood and Kay Henderson, Shannon Phillips and John Martin, Justin Sloan, Seth and Krista Greenwood, John Snow, and Missy Greenwood; by one great grandchild Hannah Greenwood: by a special cousin Betty Jenkins of Dobson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother Gerald Jenkins. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Curtis Ponder, Rev. Billy Jo Jenkins and Rev. Barlow Stanley will officiate the services. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson.
