Allyn David Sapp

Mr. Allyn David Sapp, 83, of Mt. Airy passed away at his home Saturday, July 07, 2018.  He was born in Lake County, FL to the late Isaac Jessie and Alice Ray Lucas Sapp.  He worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator as long as health permitted.  He was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church.  Mr. Sapp is survived by his devoted wife, Lula Barr Sapp; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Denise Young and Doug, Michelle Ann Rivera and Porfirio; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Sapp and Kathy; grandchildren, Jarrod Gates, Cristopher Gates, Niko Rivera, Jaylen Rivera, Cody Sapp, Jayson Throckmorton, Kara Dutton and Jason Sapp; ten great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny Ray Sapp and Teresa, and Ronnie Sapp and Barbara.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Sapp was preceded in death by sons, Ricky, Tony and David Sapp; sisters, Ernestine Stewart and Patty Ann Raines; brothers, I.D., Emmett, and Fred Sapp.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Zane Fishel officiating.  Entombment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt.
