Alma Eleanor Lawson Howard

Mrs. Alma Eleanor Lawson Howard, 86, of Dobson, passed away Friday morning, June 18, 2010, at Dunmore Plantation. She was born May 18, 1924, in Pulaski County, VA, to the late Alford Lafyette and Lucy Madeline Jerrell Lawson. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Irwin Howard; and several sisters and brothers. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Lineberry of Elkin; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Larry and Linda Howard of Elkin, Dennis Howard of Thurmond, Johnny and Karen Howard of Thurmond, Allen and Vicki Howard of Jonesville, and Alford Howard, Jr. of Elkin; eleven grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Raby and Lillian Lawson of Rhode Island. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Daysprings Baptist Church, with Brother Roger Pickett officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday June 22, 2010 at Daysprings Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Brother Roger Pickett will conduct the services. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Monday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
