Alma McMillan

Mrs. Alma Marion McMillan, 80, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, December 12, 2020 at Central Continuing Care.  Mrs. McMillan was born in Surry County on January 28, 1940 to the late Jerry Myer Marion and Ethel Forest Marion.  Alma was a member of Westside Baptist Church and was retired from Northern Hospital of Surry County after many years of dedicated service.  Left to cherish her loving memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Paula Norman; daughter, Toni McMillan; three grandchildren, Jessica and B.J. Wright, Cody and Amber McMillan, and Erin Byrd; three great-grandchildren, Ada Grace Wright, Eli Wright, and Adelyn McMillan; a sister and two brothers-in-law, Versie and Bobby Marsh, and Alvin Tilley; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. McMillan was preceded in death by her first husband, George Norman; her second husband, James Lee McMillan; twin daughters, Bonnie and Connie Norman; sister, Dorothy Tilley; two brothers, Claude Marion, and Clyde Marion; and a step-daughter, Teresa McMillan.  The funeral service will be held at Westside Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Steve Johnson and Dr. Billy Nale officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the McMillan family.
