Almedia Boyd McPeak

Mrs. Almedia Boyd McPeak, 74, of 1708 Greenhill Road, Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mrs. McPeak was born July 9, 1933, in Carroll County, VA, to the late George Martin Boyd and Electra McMillian Boyd. She retired from Cross Creek Apparel and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, Foy McPeak of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie D. and Paul Rowell of Lugoff, SC, and Alisa and George Yannopoulos of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren and a spouse, Nancy D. and Paul Lamontagne of Belchertown, MA, Timothy Rowell of Lugoff, SC, and Nicholas G. Yannopoulos of Winston-Salem; a sister, Georgia Boyd Haynes of Mount Airy; a brother and three sisters-in-law, G. Ervin and Nan Boyd, Edith McPeak, and Melba Boyd, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mrs. McPeak was preceded in death by a brother, Fonzo Lee Boyd. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 16, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Grover Holder, and burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
