Amanda "Mandy" Nicole Cave

 

Amanda Nicole “Mandy” Cave, age 49, of Dobson, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at her residence. She was born August 18, 1974, in Forsyth County, to the late Joe Luther Cave and Frankie Ann Watts Cave, who survives. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and best friend who will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Mandy was a loving and giving person, who was devoted to her family. She loved reading, fishing, sports, and was a loyal Washington Redskins fan.  She graduated from Surry Central High, class of 1992, and was a member of the National Honor Society. She then graduated from Surry Community College with honors, from Gardner-Webb University with honors and then obtained her master’s degree from Appalachian State University, also with honors. She worked for several years with the Surry Friends of Youth, as long as her health permitted.

            Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Frankie Cave, of Ararat; brothers, Joe Luther “Luke” Cave II, of Elkin, and Seth Patrick Cave (Sarah Stone), of Mount Airy; her nieces and nephews that she adored, Jenna  Jo Cave, Joshua Luke Cave, and Jacob Thomas Cave, all of Elkin, and Nora May Cave, of Mount Airy; uncle, Roger Cave (Barbara); aunts, Shelby Edwards (Tom), Linda Hemrick (Joe Bill), Barbara Davis (Eric), Claudia Cave, and Jesquer Cave; maternal uncle, Tom Watts; maternal aunts, Betsy Easter (Ray), Mary Speaks (Dennis), Dawn Hall (James), and Linda Johnson; and many cousins.

            In addition to her father, Joe Luther Cave, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James Wesley Cave and Nora Camelia Marsh Cave; and her maternal grandparents, G.R. “Mike” Watts, and Mary Alice Shelton Watts.

            A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, October 20, 2023, in the Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Luke Cave and Roger Cave speaking. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson is serving the Cave family.
