Amos Bailey Morrison

Mr. Amos Bailey Morrison, age 87, of Stuart, passed away Friday July 21, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born in Patrick County on Dec. 1, 1929 to the late Henry Lee Morrison and Fanny Belcher Morrison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yolanda Dee Morrison; a daughter, Meredith Morrison; a son, Timothy Morrison; a son-in-law, Bruce McKinney; four sisters, Annie Pilson, Minnie Mangrum, Ruth Bennett, Eva DeHart; and one brother, James Edward Morrison. Mr. Morrison served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He devoted his life to being a servant of the Lord for over 65 years. He was an Interim Pastor at Fairystone Baptist Church and also ministered throughout Patrick and surrounding counties. He also went on serveral International Mission trips. He was a longtime member of Fairystone Baptist Church and a member of Gideons International.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Ray Shope of Harrisburg, PA, Cynthia and Rob Dunham of Lansing, MI; one son, Bailey Morrison of Stuart; a daughter-in-law, Nicole Morrison of High Point, NC; 11 grandchildren, Bailey Morrison, Jr., Ann Morrison, Jennifer Cox and husband, Bear, Eric McKinney and wife, Kim, David Morrison and wife, Tamara, Adam Morrison and wife, Britney, Thomas Dunham, Parker John Hayes, Shane Salcedo and wife, Kayla, Ana Salcedo, Joey Salcedo; four great grandchildren, Olivia Morrison, Bennett Morrison, Kaden Salcedo, Madilyn Salcedo; two sisters, Marie Brink of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Nancy Martin of Laurel Fork; one brother, Claude Morrison of Williamsburg; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Fairystone Baptist Church with Pastor Kriss Foley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
