Amos Edgar Odell Spencer

Mr. Amos Edgar Odell Spencer, 68 of Mt. Airy, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital. Mr. Spencer was born on November 17, 1947 to the late Andy Washington Spencer and Florence Craighead Spencer. Mr. Spencer is survived by his wife, Betty Spencer of the home; four sons, Steven Edgar Spencer, Michael Amos, Joseph Odell Spencer, and Steven Robert Spencer; eight grandchildren; two step-sons, Jason Corns and wife Lisa, and Matthew Corns; three step-grandchildren, Cheyenne Rowe, Gabriel Corns and Nicole Corns; five sisters, Nadine Spencer, Leela Hawks, Cora Lee Sanchez, Velnar Wilson, and Sara Jane Medlar; three brothers, George Spencer, Raymond Spencer, and Bill Spencer. In addition to his parents, Mr. Spencer was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ella Hicks Spencer and a grandson, Brian Spencer. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Country Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Davis officiating with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday night at Country Baptist Church from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
