Angela Elizabeth Hudson Llewellyn

Mrs. Angela Elizabeth Hudson Llewellyn, 57, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, June 26, 2023, at Duke University Hospital after an extended illness.  Mrs. Llewellyn was born December 11, 1965, in Mount Airy, to Evelyn Williamson Hudson and the late Mallory Junior Hudson.  Angela was a graduate of North Surry High School and Surry Community College.  The performing arts were an integral part of Angela’s life.  As a longtime library assistant at the Mount Airy Public Library, she proudly founded the Dewey Decimal Players, a teen theatre group.  In 2001, she co-founded the NoneSuch Playmakers, alongside her husband, Brack.  In the Playmakers, Angela served as an actor, costumer, director, and stage manager.  Angela is survived by her husband, Brack Llewellyn; her mother, Evelyn Williamson Hudson; a brother, Johnny Hudson; and a sister, Stacy Strickland.  Also surviving are several, beloved nephews and nieces, along with numerous, treasured cousins, including Jessica Llewellyn Wood and Marcy Hudson Easter.  In addition, Angela is lovingly remembered by her NoneSuch family and her many Deweys.  Family and friends are invited to celebrate Angela’s life at a potluck lunch on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 1:00 PM.  The gathering will be held at the L.H. Jones Auditorium, 215 Jones School Road, Mount Airy.  Bring along some food to share and your favorite Angela stories.  No formal services will be held.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
