Anita Faye Easter Dowell

Mrs. Anita Faye Easter Dowell, 64, of Cana, VA, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008, at Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy. Mrs. Dowell was born August 16, 1943, in Cumberland County, VA, to Alexander Monroe and Gladys Melissa Johnson Easter. She was truly a wonderful, loving person whom will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Billy Dowell of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Chad Hatcher of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Tammy Dowell of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, Andria Leonard, Nathan Dowell, and Anna Grace Dowell; two stepgrandchildren, Chase Hatcher and Jordan Hatcher; and a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Alice Easter of Cana, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dowell was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Leonard. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2008, at Rocky Ford Christian Church in Cana, VA. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Bill Moore and Dr. Wayne Hager. Burial will follow in Dowell's Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the church.
