Ann Jackson Atkins

Mrs. Ann Jackson Atkins, 65, a resident of Mobile, AL, and formerly of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2009. Mrs. Atkins retired from Kmart after 28 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex N. Atkins; her parents, Charlie and Edna White Jackson; and a brother, Wayne Jackson. She is survived by her children, Lane Atkins, Tarji Atkins (Ronnie Houseknecht), Jobie Atkins (Ashley), and Tobie Atkins; six grandchildren, Malana, Nicholas, Colby, Jimmy, Logan, and Jackson Atkins; her siblings, Lonnie Jackson (Rachel), Nellie Snow (Ray), and Marylee Jackson; a sister-in-law, Pauline Jackson; several nieces and nephews; her devoted friends, Sharon Nelson and Virginia Canfield; and other relatives and friends. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with Dr. Rick Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the White Plains Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
