Ann Simmons Atkins

Mrs. Ann Simmons Atkins, 78, of 354 Robin Road, Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2006, at her home. Mrs. Atkins was born January 8, 1928, in Surry County, to the late Carl Lee and Mary Alice Thompson Simmons. She was a homemaker and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Airy. She is survived by her husband, Herbert L. Atkins of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Alan Ferguson of Millers Creek and Betsy and Bill Hart of Germantown, MD; three grandchildren, Katie Ferguson and Chris Ferguson, both of Boone, and Lindsay Hart of Washington, DC; and four special grandchildren, Skippy, Max, Tank and Diesel. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 15, 2006, at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church. The service will be conducted by Dr. Steve Lindsley. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
