Anna Mae Fain

        Mrs. Anna Mae Cox Fain, age 82 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.  She was born in Patrick County on February 26, 1936, to the late Dewey Coundiff Cox and Margaret Handy Cox.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fain was preceded in death by her husband Homer William Fain; a sister, Thelma Graham; and three brothers, Moir, Lloyd and Frank Cox.  She loved cooking, gardening, tending to her flowers, and canning fresh vegetables from the garden.  Anna enjoyed her career as a LPN; she had a compassionate heart for those who were hurting.  She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

        Mrs. Fain is survived by two daughters, Beverly Fain Shelton of Stuart and Sonya Lea Fain of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; a grandson, Kevin Duane Shelton; three great-grandchildren, Tamara Shelton, Claira Frisco and Brittany Shelton; one great-great-grandson, Hunter Kyle; one sister, Julia Gregory of Carolina Beach, North Carolina; one brother, Bruce Cox of Greensboro, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; a special caregiver, Betty Gaither of Stuart.

        Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Tim McGrady.  Burial will follow in Patrick Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.  If desired, memorials may be made to Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
