Annabelle Marion

Mrs. Annabelle Hiatt Marion, 85, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Surry Community Health and Rehabilitation Center.  Mrs. Marion was born January 11, 1934, in Surry County, to the late Hattie Valarie Edwards and Joe Wheeler Hiatt.  Mrs. Marion was a homemaker who gave her life for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved shopping, sewing and spending time with her beloved family.  She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Lane Hawks of Mount Airy and Debby and Rick Beasley of Greensboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Pam Marion of Ararat, VA; grandchildren, Jennifer Christian Smith, Ph.D. and husband, Doug, Julie Seivers Newton and husband, Matthew, Donna Christian Stovall and husband, Chris, Joni Seivers Repola and husband, Shane, Lindsay Seivers Stanley and husband, Jon and Ryan Seth Marion, Esquire and fiancé, Keldie Chewning; great-grandchildren, Aidan Christopher Stovall, Mattison Grace Newton, Carter Logan Smith, Emma Katherine Stovall, Jordan Elizabeth Newton, Parker Annabelle Stanley and Cannon Lane Stanley; sister, Bertie Hicks; and sisters-in-law, Norma Hiatt and Mozelle Hiatt.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Edward Marion; and brothers, Coy Chester Hiatt, Roy Gilbert Hiatt, and David Louis Hiatt.  A graveside service will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Oakdale Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Bledsoe officiating.  There will be no formal visitation.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
