Anne Trower Wyatt Peterson

Anne Trower Wyatt Peterson was born August 1, 1940, in Norfolk, Virginia.  She passed peacefully at Surry Health and Rehabilitation in Mount Airy, NC on February 6, 2022.  Anne was a devoted wife and mother and inspirational teacher to hundreds of Druid Hills Elementary School students.  Many of her past students and teaching colleagues were affected so strongly by her gentle nature and caring approach and thoughtfulness towards education that they often reach out to tell us how much she has meant to them and how knowing her has blessed their lives.  She was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church of Martinsville, Virginia.  We would like to thank all of the staff at Surry Community Health and Rehabilitation for their fabulous care and love for Anne.  Her beautiful blue eyes melted the hearts of all who cared for her.  We would also like to thank the nurses from Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for their devotion to making her last hours peaceful and comfortable.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Malissa Parker Wyatt and Hamilton Stanley Wyatt; her brother, Hamilton Stanley Wyatt, Jr.; husband William Banks Peterson; Daughter-in-Law, Christine Heermann Peterson.  She is survived by her daughter Melissa Peterson Jessup (Dale) and her son William Banks Peterson, Jr. ; Grandchildren Emmaline Peterson, Olivia Jessup, and Wyatt Jessup; Sister-In-Law Nancy Peterson; A niece and many nephews.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in Martinsville, VA with the Rev.
