Mrs. Annie Taylor Badgett, 95, of 335 East Old McKinney Road, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Central Continuing Care. Mrs. Badgett was born September 8, 1915, in Surry County, to the late Walter and Lela Ball Taylor. Annie was a homemaker and a member of Dover Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Shelby B. and Roger Lewis Nichols of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry W. and Peggy M. Badgett of Mount Airy; six grandchildren and their spouses, Timothy M. Nichols of Winston-Salem, James A. and Jill H. Nichols, Samuel J. and Tina S. Nichols, Scott Badgett, Shelly Taylor and her fiancé, Todd Smith, and Amanda and Matt Adams, all of Mount Airy; twelve great-grandchildren, Morgan Nichols, Alexandra Nichols, Emma Nichols, Jessie Nichols, Jake Nichols, Katelyn Badgett, Bailey Badgett, Jaden Badgett, Mason Taylor, Maggie Taylor, Meg Adams, and Jonah Adams, all of Mount Airy; four great-stepgrandchildren, Matt Simpson, Andy Simpson, Christopher Smith, and Joshua Smith, all of Mount Airy; and a sister, Agnes Taylor Vernon of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Badgett was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Glen Badgett; and two grandsons, Gary Nichols and Jason Badgett. The funeral service will be held Friday, November 12, 2010, at 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. J. Cecil Hill and Dr. Jon Cawley officiating. Burial will follow in the Dover Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
