Annie Juanita Dale Johnson

Mrs. Annie Juanita "Nanny" Dale Johnson, 80, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Select Specialty Hospital in Winston-Salem. She was born March 27, 1928, in Tazewell County, VA, to the late Johnny Clifford Patton and Martha Dale Patton. She was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and retired from Pine State Knitwear. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Johnny and Marie Johnson and Jerry and Betty Johnson, all of Mount Airy; four grandchildren and spouses, Shannon Maria and Marty Mayes of Dobson, Laura Hope and Travis Sechrist of Mount Airy, Autumn and Joshua Sechrist of Cana, VA, and Joshua Johnson of Winston-Salem; seven great-grandchildren, Kendall Morgan Harrold, Logan Cole Harrold, William Colten Sechrist, Travis Payten Sechrist, Sylas Lee Sechrist, Addyson Faith Sechrist, and Maggy Shay Sechrist; and two great-stepgrandchildren, Kirsten Shea Mayes and Carter Reid Mayes. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Brack Johnson, Jr.; a sister, Dorothy Wright; and three brothers, Eugene Dale, Walter Dale, and Fred Patton. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Pine Ridge Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dwight Sechrist, the Rev. Travis Sechrist, and the Arlis Thomas, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church, where her body will remain until the hour of the funeral service.
