Annie Lou Rosendahl of Raleigh NC passed away peacefully Sunday morning May 30, 2021. Lou was the only daughter of Hattie and Alex Fowler, and was born and raised in Dobson NC. She married her high school sweetheart Fred Rosendahl (who passed in February 2021). She attended Lees-McRae University before moving to Raleigh to work in the accounting department at NC State University, where she retired as the General Accounting Manager after 35 years. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various callings in her Ward. She loved to cook, play piano, and visit with family and friends. She always had a smile, a laugh, and a good story to share.
Lou always showed attentive care of the details of people’s lives, starting with their name. Even into her eighties she learned the name of any person she met and made a point of using their name in every conversation she had with them. She was particularly attentive of birthdays. When she passed away it was found among her careful files the next two months’ worth of birthday cards, each with a note written in her beautiful script.
She was a loyal daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Lou is survived by her two sons Mark (Maren) of Anthem, AZ, and Jay Alexander of Raleigh, NC, her seven grandchildren Mark Chandler of Denver, Colorado, Lauren Ann of Anthem, AZ, Kiernan Alexander of Wilmington, NC, Auriella Elise of Boone, NC, Cameron James of Anthem AZ, Emma Brynn of Wilmington, NC, and Connor Andrew of Anthem, AZ. Additionally, her brothers Beauford Fowler, James Fowler, Odell (Carolyn) Fowler and 16 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Harlow Fowler and Delano Fowler.
A combined memorial service for Lou and her late husband Fred Rosendahl will be held on July 22nd 2021 at 11:00 am, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints’ chapel at 5060 Six Forks Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609. Burial will take place on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 11:00 am in the cemetery of Fairview Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Merritt conducting the services.
She was deeply loved and will be deeply missed.
