Annie Irene Maines Lowe

Mrs. Annie Irene Maines Lowe, 81, of Lowgap, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 18, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Lowe was born March 9, 1935, in Alleghany County, one of eight children born to the late Willie Lloyd and Mertie Alice Anders Maines. Irene was a homemaker and a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lawrence Ruby Lowe of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Rita Lowe of Creston and Roger and Debbie Lowe of King; a son-in-law, Ronnie Draughon of Lowgap; her grandchildren, Chuck and Julianna Lowe, Lisa and Bill Russell, Tina Lowe, Shannon and Paul Nevergall, and Teara Draughon; her great-grandchildren, Jordyn Ward, Olivia Nevergall, Noah Nevergall, Eli Nevergall, Gabe Nevergall, Sara Nevergall, Braelen Draughon, Dawson Draughon, Tanner Russell, Maddie Russell, and Emma Lowe; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Charles Herrington of Southport; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Bobby and Shirley Maines of Durham, Dean Maines of Sparta, Dale and Laura Maines of Baltimore, MD, and Donald and Freida Maines of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lowe was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie June Lowe Draughon; a grandson, Kevin Dean Draughon; a sister, Mae Maines Scott; and an infant brother, Junior Maines. The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ewell Vernon and Paul Nevergall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until 2:00 PM at Mountain View Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 68, Lowgap, NC 27024. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the Lowe family.
