Annie Lee Needham Atkins, 94, of Mount Airy, passed away on June 1st, 2024 at home. Born November 19th, 1929, she was the daughter of Claude Ernest and Stella Rosella Adams Needham. Left behind to cherish a full life of memories include her daughter and son-in-law Lisa Ann (Patrick) Frantz, granddaughters, Tori and Tara Blevins, grandson Tanner Blevins, sister Barbara Jean Jessup, brothers Roger (Deloris) and Eddie (Brenda) Needham, several nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren Audrey (Jay) Furnas, Sara (Zach) Hutchings, and Patrick John Frantz, and step-great-grandchildren Nate and Chloe Furnas and Monroe Hutchings.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years Carl Esker Atkins, her parents, her son-in-law Victor Alan Blevins, her brothers James Claude Needham, Tyre Charles Needham, sisters Opal Boyles, Beatrice York, Janie McClung, and infant sister Marilyn Needham.
Annie Lee was a woman of great faith and character and a talented seamstress and homemaker who had a strong work ethic and responsibility. Mrs. Atkins devoted her life to her family, creating a warm loving home for her loved ones. She helped her husband as a farmer where she tended the land with skill and dedication. Her green thumb and love for gardening shone through every harvest. In her spare time, Annie Lee found joy in sewing, creating beautiful garments and keepsakes for her family and friends. Her attention to detail and craftsmanship were evident in every stitch. She also found solace and expression in playing the piano, filling her home with the melodious sounds of her music.
Though she may have passed on, the memory of Annie Lee's love and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation for Mrs. Atkins will be Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM at New Home Church of Christ. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the church with Rev. Ralph Sproles, Rev. Tim Smith, and Bill Dinwiddie officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, PO Box 315, Dobson NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Service in serving the Atkins family.
