Annie May Snow Riddle

Mrs. Annie May Snow Riddle, 89, widow of Porter Gray Riddle, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at Surry Community Nursing Center. She was born in Surry County on June 26, 1918 to the late Elmer Lee and Lillie Davis Snow. Mrs. Riddle was co-founder of Beaver Creek Golf Course and an avid golfer who accomplished five holes-in-one. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she leaves behind to cherish her memory five sons and four daughters-in-law. Jimmy Dean and Fay Riddle of Siloam, Gray and Gladys Riddle of Dobson, Donnie and Susan Riddle, Brent and Sherry Riddle, all of Mt. Airy and David Riddle of the home; five grandchildren and spouses, Terry and Sherri Riddle of Mooresville, Tammy and Cliff Walton of Raleigh, Cindy and Tim Thomas of Mt. Airy, Chuck and Sheila Riddle of Dobson, Tracie Flowers of Winston-Salem, Holly and Scott Gunter and Ashley and Corey Mills all of Mt. Airy; eleven great-gandchildren; one great-great grandchild;three sisters, Lena White, Fern Poindexter and Dot Brown; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mack and Patsy Snow and Wade and Ruth Snow all of Dobson. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Riddle was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Key and Ova White; two brothers, Merritt Snow and Perry Grant Snow. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with Elder Leonard Simpson and Pastor Dud Spencer officiating and burial to follow in Union Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm at Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson.
