Annie Lee Easter Sechrist

Mrs. Annie Lee Easter Sechrist, 88, of Cana, VA, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Sechrist was born August 15, 1922, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Valentine "Felty" and Laura Alice Easter. She was a homemaker and a member of Cana Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Joey Roby Sechrist of Cana, VA; two grandchildren, Kimberly Ann Sechrist of Statesville and Joseph Bradley Sechrist of Cana, VA; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Levi Corey Sechrist, Dylan Blane Sechrist, Brooke Anna Nicole White, and Katie Marie White; and a sister, Leola Frazier of Richmond, VA. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sechrist was preceded in death by her husband, Roby Luty Sechrist; four sisters, Ellen Comer, Lena Willard Sechrist, Rosie Dean, and Zula Payne; and four brothers, Ed Easter, Garland Easter, Oscar Easter, and Reuben Easter. the funeral service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Cana Baptist Church, with the Rev. Russell Vass and the Rev. Dwight Sechrist officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, April 1, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.
