April Haywood Combs

Miss. April Haywood Combs, age 17, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was born in Twin County Hospital in Galax. Left to cherish her memories are her father and mother, Randy and Starr Combs; siblings, Hayley Haynes, James and Allen Wilmoth; maternal grandmother, Lucy Shinault; uncles and aunts, Rodney and Stephanie Combs, Big John and Angie Byerly, Perry Shumate and wife Ashley, Travis Shumate and wife Brittany, Lakeshia Michelle Shumate and her children, James Mosley, Clair Vasquez, and Jasmine Clara; cousins, Dalton and Gage Combs; nieces and nephews, Isaac Shumate, Brianna Shumate and Chance Shumate. Miss Combs was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Roby Haywood Combs. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy. The family will receive friends Wednesday Morning, August 25, 2021, from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the funeral home and at other times at the family home 401 Flint Hill Rd. Cana, VA. 24317. Burial will take place at the family home.
