Mrs. Arlene Frances Fowler Davis, age 89, of Dobson, NC passed away at her home on Thursday morning March 10, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on April 14, 1932, to the late Earnest Lee Fowler and the late Lula Cave Fowler. To know her was to know and love Jesus. She loved to help people no matter their circumstances. Her garden was her pride and joy. She fed many people over the years from it with enthusiasm. One would also never come to her house without being offered food and seeing her beautiful flowers. Before any children, Arlene was a daughter, sister, and wife. She loved her mother and father without reserve and served them until their final days. She and her sisters and brother remained close and always visited each other as they could. She enjoyed always helping and serving her home church, Fairview Baptist, which she was a member of since 1957. She served in the quilting ministry and helped to make and deliver many prayer quilts. She also served as a member of the WMU. Any time there was a meal provided by the church, she was always there to help cook and serve. No meal was ever complete until you had a piece of her coconut cake, apple pie, pumpkin pie or chocolate eclair. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren may have been her greatest joy. She enjoyed always spending time with them all and never missed an opportunity to go and see them playing and enjoying life. She was always up for a weekend getaway trip with her family. Summer play dates were a huge part of summers the past three years of her life. She would watch her great grandchildren dance, paint, sing, play in the sand, write on the sidewalks, swing & maybe occasionally fight but would always reassure them how that “wasn’t nice.” When she wasn’t doing this in the summer, she was enjoying the warm weather riding the golf carts up and down John Davis Rd with Ann and family. This was a sweet and blissful pass time. She will forever be greatly missed by all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 52 years, Robert Dixon Davis; grandchild, Chad Pike; special son-in-law TW Moser; sisters, Agnes White, Beatrice Anthony, Mary Ruth Fowler; brother Wendell Fowler. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Joan and Jimmy Pike; Ann Davis Moser; sons and daughters-in-law, Brent and Kathy Davis, Dale and Beverly Davis, Jeff and Gaye Davis, Dickie and Danette Davis; grandchildren, Scott Pike, Tonya and Mike Wise, Mandy and Travis Holt, Brad Davis, Casey and Ben Puckett, Aaron and Nicole Moser, Dustin Davis, Joseph and Alexa Davis, Deaven and Austin Boult, Daniel and Jordan Davis; great-grandchildren, Briley Lee Puckett, Ashton Leigh Puckett, Reed Davis Wise, Essie Raye Moser, Adalynn Elizabeth Holt, Ansley Harper Davis, Harrison Tripp Davis, River Kate Moser, Ila Gray Davis on the way; sisters, Emma Gwynn, Clarine Calhoun; special friend, Kathleen Collins. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday March 13, 2022, in the Chapel of Fairview Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Dr. Billy Nale and Dr. Dan Merritt will officiate the services. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening March 12, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted by the family or donations made to Fairview Baptist Church Children and Youth Program. Fairview Baptist Church 7659 NC 268 Dobson, NC 27017
