Arlene Dowell Surratt

Mrs. Arlene Dowell Surratt, age 81, of Cana Virginia, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Northern Regional Hospital.  Mrs. Surratt was born on October 26, 1938, in Carroll County to the late Mr. John Nathan and Lala Towe Dowell.  Arlene was a loving wife, mother, sister, and will be missed by all who knew here. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Dan Temperle; one son and daughter-in-law, Arley and Jennifer Surratt;  grandchildren, Cristin Ballard, Kelsey Bowman, Austin Surratt, Andrew Surratt and Chloe Surratt; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Forester, Declan Bowman, Derek Bowman; sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Robert Clifton.  In addition to her parents Mrs. Surratt was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie Berlin Surratt; a daughter, Lynn Brinkley; a sister, Virginia Brown and brothers, R.L., Sam, Clinton, Frank, Bobby, and Junior Dowell.  Due to the limitations of numbers for public gatherings at this time (COVID-19), a private graveside service will be held at Rocky Ford Christian Church, Cana, Virginia.  Moody Funeral Services of Mount Airy is serving the Surratt family.
