Arlis Clinton Bowman

Mr. Arlis Clinton Bowman, 64, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Bowman was born July 26, 1943, in Surry County, to the late Ervin McClain and Lillian Beck Bowman. Mr. Bowman was a loving father and grandfather. He worked at Webb's Shoe Store and then M&W Outlet. Mr. Bowman is survived by his wife, Fairy Frazier Bowman of Mount Airy; two daughters, Angela Bowman McMillian and Elizabeth Ayers Cashatt and husband, Anthony, all of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Ashley Faith Cashatt and Derek Johnson Cashatt; a sister, Nancy "Eloise" Quesenberry of Hamptonville; a brother, James Glenn Bowman of Mount Airy; and several special nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowman was preceded in death by a sister, Lora "Joann" Vestal; and a brother, Donald Bowman. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 17, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy. The service will be conducted by Brother Don Collins and the Rev. Hugh Bryant, and burial will follow in the Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
