Mr. Arnold Jacob Guynn, 92, of Fancy Gap, VA, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010, at his home. Mr. Guynn was born May 20, 1918, in Carroll County, VA, to the late James Franklin and Lillie Inez Thomas. He was a produce farmer and retired as a driver for Dixie Concrete. Mr. Guynn was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Nina Bowman of Havre De Grace, MD, Ima and Lonnie Lindsey of Hillsville, VA, Wanda and Shelbin Culler of Ararat, VA, and Linda and Dennis Woods of Galax, VA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis Guynn and Linda McBride of Mount Airy and Roy and Patricia Guynn of Blacksburg, VA; a brother, John Gwyn of Mount Airy; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Guynn was preceded in death by his wife, Hallie Mary Elizabeth Guynn; four sisters, Rhoda McMillian, Bessie Guynn, Della Bond, and Jane Goodman; three brothers, Lee Guynn, Rufus Guynn, and Howard Guynn; and a great-grandchild, Little Stacy Culler. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cana, VA, by the Rev. Tim Hawks and the Rev. Wayne Guynn. The family will receive friends at the home of Ima and Lonnie Lindsey, 1792 Kenmore Road, Hillsville, VA.
