Arthur Monroe Jessup

Mr. Arthur Monroe Jessup, 88, of Mt. Airy passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at his home. He was born in Patrick County on June 19, 1933, to the late William Martin and Della McBride Jessup. Mr. Jessup proudly served our country in the United States Air Force, and after he retired from the Air Force, he then retired from H&W Trucking. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Lynn Jessup, Dr. Ronald and Lenise Jessup; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jessup was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Marie Jessup; one sister; seven brothers. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens. with Dr. Darrell Tate officiating, and full military honors conducted by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 of Mt. Airy and Post 9436 of Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
