Artie Florine Harris Nicks

Mrs.  (Artie)  Florine Harris Nicks, age 95, of Siloam, NC went home to be with Jesus on Saturday evening February 5, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy NC.  She was born in Wilkes County North Carolina, on March 1, 1926, to the late Robert (Bob) Alexander Harris and the late Ethel Holloway Harris.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Bilson (Dr. BB) Nicks; sons, Ben Nicks and Paul Nicks; grandchildren, Paula Nicks, Paul Nicks Jr.; sisters and brothers, Dorothy Cope, Mary Willard, Mattie Wiles, Dauthard Harris, Dean Harris, Rhoda Everhart, Ken Harris, Earline Davis, Texie Blevins, Don Harris, Janice Gorsuch.  She was a loving wife of a pastor for over fifty years, and was married for over fifty-eight years, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.  Loved everyone and gave the best hugs!  Surviving is her daughter Cynthia Nicks Wall; sons and daughters-in-laws, Michael and Judy Nicks, Larry and Janis Nicks, John and Kim Nicks; thirteen grandchildren, Bobby Nicks, Crystal Childress, Anita Abbey, Joy Tyree, Rebecca Nicks, Jennifer Nicks, Heike Nicks, Brian Nicks, Mason Nicks, Elizabeth Stacey, William Nicks, Sarah Hanson and Ashley Vaden;  seventeen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; best friend,  Irene Little of Lynchburg, VA; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held    11:00 AM Thursday in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home with burial to follow in Redeeming Grace Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Steve Mahaffey will officiate the services.  The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Redeeming Grace Baptist Church C/O Sharon Wall 1637 River Siloam Road, Siloam NC 27047.
