Mr. Arvil "Bud" Lee Johnson, 69, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Johnson was born October 1, 1940, in Surry County, to Elbert Troy and Surrilda Ferguson Johnson. He was warm, loving and devoted to his family. Bud was an avid fisherman. Surviving are his loving wife, Linda Butcher Johnson of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Anthony Boles of Mount Airy; a son, Tony Johnson; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Anita and David Payne of Dobson and Karen and Ricky Lambe of Lambsburg, VA; grandchildren, Andrew Boles, Kelly Johnson, T.J. Johnson, Chasity Handy and her husband, D.J., Brandi Robertson and her husband, Stephen, and Dalton Payne; a great-granddaughter, Bailey Melynn Robertson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sue and Charles Linville and Wilma Taylor, all of White Plains; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Truman Johnson and Elvis and Carol Johnson, all of Mount Airy, and Burley Johnson of Cana, VA; and many very special friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Hodges; and a brother, Wayburn Johnson. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, by the Rev. Travis Chipman and the Rev. Johnny Johnson. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O.
