Ashley Michelle Hicks

Miss Ashley Michelle “Sunshine” Hicks, 31, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022.  She was born August 18, 1990, in Forsyth County, to Michael Ray Hicks and Ginger Hunter.  Ashley was a beautiful soul.  She loved collecting antiques, rare finds, artwork, music, and so much more.  She saw beauty in the rarest of things.  She loved her family, she loved people, and she never met a stranger.  Left to cherish her memories are her parents, Michael Ray Hicks and Ginger Hunter; her three brothers and their families, Blake, Stephanie, Karleigh, Logan, and Katelyn Collins, Christopher, JaidaGrace, and Teigan Hicks, and Joshua Hicks; her long-term friend and caregiver, Clyde Phillip Prater; her paternal grandmother, Norma Jean Hicks; her maternal grandparents, Gaye and Charles Rollins; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Billy Ray Hicks and Gearl Hunter.  The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Dewayne Sands officiating.  Burial will follow in the Croff Cemetery in Kibler Valley.  The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 PM until the time for the service at the funeral home.
