Aubrey Hicks Ferrell, Sr

Mr. Aubrey Hicks Ferrell, Sr., 64, of Ararat, VA, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010, at his home. Mr. Ferrell was born July 8, 1945, in Durham County, to Buford Vinson and Lillie Hicks Ferrell. He worked for Gate City Glazing in Greensboro. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Armstrong Ferrell of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Dustin Chandler of Mount Airy; a daughter, Rebecca Ferrell and her boyfriend, Chris Turney, of the home; sons and daughter-in-law, Aubrey Hicks Ferrell, Jr. and Stephanie of Tennessee and Jeff Ferrell of Durham; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Trudy Ferrell, Garland and Almeta Ferrell, Jimmy and Susie Ferrell, Jerry Ferrell, and Allen Ferrell, all of Durham; and his best friends, Chad Bullington and Gary Brown. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ferrell was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ruth Riggsbee; and a brother, Buford Vinson Ferrell, Jr. Services for Mr. Ferrell will be private. The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care given to Mr. Ferrell during his illness by Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and Liberty Care. Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy is serving the Ferrell family.
