It's difficult to grapple with the sense of loss we feel with the passing of a loved one—especially someone like Audrey. But we remember things. Audrey, I remember. Your smile. Your laughter. The thousand times you had to yell for Neal and me to get out of the creek. The cornbread, jelly, and "real cow butter." The look on your face that said you knew something I didn't. Your concern at family reunions that I—or that anybody—hadn't had some of everything and might leave hungry. And I remember shellin' peas and shuckin' and silkin' ears of corn, not forgetting to give some raw scraps of corn to the dog you had.

With Grandpa and Grandma gone, and with sisters and brothers (and husbands and wives) passing on, you tried to keep up with the ever-expanding litters of your and your siblings' offspring. Maybe—all along—you knew you'd be the last to carry the light to several generations of the Semones (and Hall) bloodlines. Thanks, Audrey. We love you, and we will remember.

Steve and I were so sorry to hear about Aunt Audrey. We were fortunate to have stayed in touch with her via telephone over the last several years. She always remembered my birthday; and whenever we talked, she would tell me stories about my Mom and Dad and when I was young. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lester and the family.

Sincere sympathy to Lester and family. I loved her calls and we talked about her and my mama growing up together. She was a special lady.
